Puppy Training
Ah, PUPPIES! Who can resist those wriggling little balls of fuzzy, warm, tail wagging adorableness?! If you are reading this, you have probably already adopted your new family member - Congratulations!
When is the best time to start training your new puppy? As soon as you bring them home. They are constantly learning whether you are intending for them to or not, so better to be teaching them the way you would like them to behave than to inadvertently encourage or allow negative behaviours that could become problematic down the road. Not to mention, the critical socialization period closes at about 4 months of age, so time is of the essence!
Jumping, chewing, pulling, nipping, barking, digging, whining, “accidents”, yep, all normal puppy behaviours! But that doesn’t mean you have to accept them. We can show you how to get the behaviour you want from your puppy, and eliminate what you don’t – all while building trust and confidence. Positive reinforcement training is FUN and will only strengthen the bond between you. It involves preventing the behaviours you don’t want while making the behaviours you DO want pay off for your dog, thus increasing their frequency.
Our puppy training begins with you filling out a registration form below to let us know a little bit about you and what you hope to accomplish with your puppy. We will then set up an in-home training session at your convenience.
The sessions will be geared to you and your individual puppy. We will first start by addressing any issues or concerns you are having and then progress through some or all of the following, depending on your goals, at a rate that is comfortable for all involved:
House training
Crate training
The right tools (ie. Making sure you have an appropriate harness, leash, etc.)

Nipping/biting
